Hey Smarp admin!
As many of you have noticed, this month, we have introduced a new flow for Post creation.
Why the need for this change? Our UX team conducted extensive research at the end of 2019 to understand how users and admins create content and how we can further optimise the content creation process. We had a series of interviews and testing sessions where we asked our existing users and admins to walk us through the user experience of post creation. Based on this research, changes were needed to ensure that the content creation experience is as smooth as possible, both now and in the future.
The reason why the change was implemented this month, is that we are excited to announce that we will be increasing the different types of content that can be added to Smarp. During Q1 2020, we are going to introduce the option to create posts with only an image or with a video. This will initially be rolled out for internal sharing only. Therefore in a couple of months, there will be four different types of content in Smarp and in order to accommodate this need, the post creation flow also needed enhancement.
Additionally, based on the research, we wanted to make it more clear that there are different steps that you need to take when you are creating content. That’s why instead of the single window, there are now three steps in the content creation: Create, Configure, and Confirm. These steps will guide the user through what is needed to make a perfect post in Smarp.
We have received a lot of positive and also some really good constructive feedback about the change. We know that many of our clients loved the simplicity of the old post creation, but we strongly believe that this change was needed going forward. We will still keep on developing the new flow based on your feedback, which is why it’s really important that you keep on giving it to us. We have created a feedback form to collect your thoughts, which you can find here:
You can also, of course, give feedback through your dedicated Customer Success Manager and moving forward we will make sure to notify you of any major platform updates prior to release through our Admin Newsletter!
Here is a step-by-step guide on how to create and manage content on the new flow!
