As an admin or channel manager you can review the posts that Users propose and decide if you want to Approve or Reject them. Lets go through the steps of how to approve or reject a proposed post in Smarp.
First, navigate to the Proposed feed and find the post you want to review. A proposed post looks like this:
Reject a post
You can reject a post by clicking the 'Reject'-button. If you reject the post it will automatically be rejected for all the channels it has been proposed to and will disappear from the Proposed feed in Smarp.
The User who proposed the post that you rejected can see that their post was rejected under their 'My Posts' setting.
You can also leave feedback for the User using the 'Give Feedback' option before rejecting if you want to provide them with a reason for the post being rejected. The user will be able to see there is a comment under the 'Feedback (1)' option in the post.
Approve a post
You begin approving a post by clicking 'Prepare post for publication'.
The proposed post will be opened and you will be able to see the image, title and description (if applicable) that the User has selected for their post. You can edit any of these sections.
On the next page, you can see which Channels the post has been proposed to under the 'Select Channels'-option.
In order to publish the post, you have to select whether you wish to approve or reject the post for each channel it has been proposed to. You can approve a post by clicking the V-symbol and reject it by clicking the X-symbol.
You are also able to publish the post to channels it has not been proposed to be simply clicking on that channel name.
After selecting the channels the post will get published to, you can also add or edit the following settings for the post:
- Add a Campaign
- Enable Commenting
- Enable Notify users immediately
- Enable Read confirmation
- Select the Post audience: internal reading or external sharing
- Select and edit Sharing networks and messages
On the last page, you will be able to see any thoughts that the user who proposed the post wrote about it. You can also edit this text, if you wish.
Lastly, you can choose to publish the post to the channels you selected immediately or schedule it to be published at a later date.
To publish the post, select Done and it will be published on Smarp to the channels you have selected.
A note on selecting channels
If you do not approve or reject the post for all the Channels it has been proposed to, the post will be Published to the Channels you selected, but will remain in the Proposed feed for the Channels that are still waiting for a decision.
If a post has been published but is still Proposed to channels where a decision on publication has not been made, it will be distinguished by the 'Pending in X channels' note on the post on the Published feed. This note is only visible to admins. You can review the post for the Channels that remain by selecting the note.
