Groups can be used in Haiilo to better manage and coordinate your company Haiilo domain according to your specific choices. You may, for example, want to segment your platform based on geography or departments. Users are then assigned to different groups that each have their different channels and settings based on that location or department's preferences.
Overview
When your company Haiilo domain has Groups enabled, a Company Admin will be able to see the Groups option on the top menu bar, and under it, all the Groups that your domain currently has and how many seats each group has.
From the Groups tab, you can edit a group to change its name or the number of seats that is allocated to that Group. Your total seat number for your domain as well as how many unused seats have yet to be allocated to a group you can see at the top next to the Create group-button. Please note that you cannot set a seat limit that is over your total seats for the whole domain.
If you want to acquire more seats, you can reach out to your dedicated Customer Success specialist from Haiilo.
Under the Groups tab, you are also able to create more Groups by clicking the +Create group-button. Please note that you cannot delete groups in Haiilo so think carefully before creating a group.
Group management
In order to make it easier for you as a Company Admin to manage your groups, you can create Group Admins. Group Admins can control different areas of the platform independent of the Company Admin. These areas include group-level user management, group-level content management as well as group-level analytics. Group Admins can only see information for their group.
Company Admins are able to see the Users, Settings and Analytics for the whole domain, but they are also able to filter between groups to see group-level information. For example, in Settings, Company Admins can see the whole Company Settings as well as filter to see a particular Groups' settings.
(Please note that some settings, including content import and employee advocacy settings, have remained on a company-level and cannot be altered group-by-group.)
Similarly, Company Admins can filter the Users list or Analytics to only show users or analytics from a specific group or choose to see all users in or all analytics for the whole company domain.
User view
As a rule, the user view with Groups is almost identical to the user view without Groups. Not much in Haiilo tells the User if their domain has Groups or not.
Users can engage with content across groups as Channels are based on groups users can see directly from the Channels list which group each channel belong to. Users are able to subscribe to channels from other groups than they are in themselves.
Users can also see on a post on the Haiilo feed in which group's channels the post has been published from the Channel name.
However, users are only able to view Resources and Perks for their own Group.
