In order to incentivize your users to engage with Smarp, you can reward Points for certain actions that users take within Smarp. Users can view how they are performing via their user insights. Points provides users with a way to, for example, claim rewards (if your company Smarp domain has Perks enabled), see their rank on the Leaderboard, and see how their social network connection engage with their shares from Smarp from 'View my Insights'.
Points can currently be enabled for four specific actions in Smarp:
- Proposing content to be approved and published on Smarp
- Sharing content to social media
- Getting unique clicks on their shared content on social media
- Inviting your colleagues to join your company's Smarp domain
This guide will detail each action in turn and how you can set points for each.
The allocation of points strongly depends on what goals you are aiming for with your Smarp program. If your focus is on distributing content to social media, you might want to allocate more points for sharing content. Should your emphasis, however, lie on network engagement, you could consider giving a higher amount of points per click. Or, alternatively, if your program focuses on employee communication, you can give out points for proposing content in your company Smarp domain.
You are also able to have no points available at all in your Smarp domain, if you so choose. In that case, you are not able to use Perks or the Leaderboard either as they rely on the points-system.
Proposing content
You can set how many points a user can get for Proposing a post in your company Smarp domain. The set amount of points is awarded to the user for each individual post that they Propose.
The points for proposing content can be set from the Post settings. Set the amount of points that you wish to give per proposed post in the field 'Points for proposing a post (by sharer)'.
Admins or Channel Managers will not receive points as they can publish content without approval. Even if an Admin or CM were to switch their role to User, they will still not receive points for proposing content in Smarp.
Sharing content
You can set how many points a user can get for sharing a post to a selected social network from your company Smarp domain. Points for sharing can be awarded for shares to LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook and Xing. The set amount of points is awarded to the user for each unique share that they make to each network. Sharing the same post again to the same network will not award more points.
The points for unique clicks can be set from the Employee Advocacy settings. Set the amount of points that you wish to give per shared post for each social network.
Points for sharing can also be edited on a post-level. This means that when admins are approving posts, they can edit the points that users get for sharing that individual post while they are approving it. See here for information editing the sharing points while approving a post.
Unique clicks
You can set how many points a user can get for each unique click they receive on a post that they have shared from your company Smarp domain. The set amount of points is awarded to the user for each unique click that one of their shared posts receive. Unique clicks mean clicks by someone who has not yet clicked on the post. Hence, a user cannot ask their friend to click on their post 50 times to receive 50 x the set amount of points as only 1 click would be counted. Clicks and their points are updated in Smarp in real-time, meaning within a few minutes of new clicks being received.
The points for unique clicks can be set from the Employee Advocacy settings. Set the amount of points that you wish to give to users for each unique click that any of their shared posts receive in the field 'Points for clicks on external shares'.
Inviting colleagues
If your company Smarp domain has the Groups-feature enabled and you want to edit the points for inviting colleagues, contact your dedicated Customer Success specialist from Smarp for help on this.
You can set how many points a user can get for inviting a colleague to join your company Smarp domain. The set amount of points is awarded to the user for every new colleague that accepts an invite to join Smarp that they received from a Smarp user. The points are hence awarded only after the invited colleague joins Smarp.
The points for inviting colleagues can be set from the Invitations & Registration settings. Set the amount of points that you wish to give for each invited colleague in the field 'Points for inviting a colleague'. (Please note that you can only see this field if your company Smarp domain does NOT have the Groups-feature enabled.)
Users are able to invite colleagues to join a company Smarp domain if a Company Admin or Group Admin has allowed it in the Invitations & Registration settings. Users can invite colleagues as explained here.
