You might want to set some channels as mandatory for your users, so that they cannot unsubscribe from them to ensure that they always receive the content that is relevant to them. This you can easily do in the Channels settings by adding the channel to the Essential channels field. Making a channel Essential means that users cannot unsubscribe from it.
Similarly, if you prefer that your users are automatically subscribed to a channel but you want to allow them the opportunity to unsubscribe from it if they want to, you can add the channel to the Default channels field. Users are automatically subscribed to Default channels but they can unsubscribe from them if they wish. Marking channels as Default is a good starting point when setting up your company Haiilo domain as it ensures that when your users are invited to join the domain, they are automatically subscribed to at least some channels.
To add channels as Essential or Default, simply click on either the Essential channels or Default channels field in Company or a group's settings, and search for the channels that you want to add as either Essential or Default and click Save. Your users will be automatically added to these channels, if they aren't already subscribed to them, and for Essential channels, the ability to unsubscribe from them will be removed. Your users will see the option to unsubscribe as below in their channel list for Essential channels:
